Karratha residents can embark on a journey of light and imagination in the illuminating interactive installation by Patch Theatre, Sea of Light.
With a UV torch as a paintbrush, locals can paint and stencil their own voyage and steer ships that leave glowing paths of light in their wake.
Sea of Light will be held at the Red Earth Arts Precinct from 30 September until 4 October with tickets for 30 minutes sessions available to purchase.
While exploring Sea of Light, artworks by Contemporary Aboriginal Visual Artist Elizabeth Close are painted in light across the sea floor.
These paintings speak to the connection between land and sea, the earth and waterways and are informed by the diversity of the Australian landscape.
They also reflect the deep relationship that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Australia have with Country.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said Sea of Light was an intriguing and interactive show suitable for the whole family.
“Sea of Light brings together light with a gentle soundscape to create an adventure for the whole family,” Cr Scott said.
“This unique, intriguing and inventive visual arts installation is sure to excite viewers and we have a range of sessions available including; Mums and bubs sessions, All ages sessions and Sensory sessions.”
