Financial hardship

During times of financial hardship, some people may experience difficulty paying rates. As well as offering flexible payment arrangements, the City has developed a financial hardship policy to provide relief to eligible residential ratepayers by writing-off interest of up to $1,000 on outstanding rates.

Please read Item 8 of Council’s Rating Policy CF-10 and submit your completed Financial Hardship Rate Relief Application to the City’s Rates Team. To submit your application, email it to rates@karratha.wa.gov.au or bring completed forms into the City's Administration Building, along with a hardship letter from a qualified financial body.
