City Leaders Push for Housing, Infrastructure, and Bold 2050 Vision in Meeting with Premier

The City met with Premier Roger Cook to advocate on behalf of the Karratha’s community current needs and building a plan for Karratha’s future.

Last week, City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott and CEO Virginia Miltrup sat down with the Premier Roger Cook and local MP Kevin Michel to discuss Karratha’s vital need for more housing, the Dampier Marina, and planning for the future with the Karratha 2050 project.

Karratha 2050 is a visionary document the City is creating to set out a vision for the future of Karratha and driving development of the Pilbara region.

The City has been heavily advocating for the community at both the state and federal level, and these efforts are coming to fruition as seen with the announcement of funding for Mulataga.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said Council was working hard to encourage government to give back to the Karratha community.

“It was great to meet with the Premier and discuss Karratha’s current and future needs,” Cr Scott said.

“Its through working together with Industry, Federal and State Government that our community and City will thrive.

“The success of industrial projects and our region relies on creating liveable and thriving communities as well as being able to attract and retain workforce.

“Given this, we are developing the Karratha 2050 project, a visionary plan for our City and will be inviting the State and Federal Government, along with key industry players to join us in building a vision for Karratha.”
