The 2025 Local Government Election is being conducted via postal vote.
If your address is up to date, you should have received a voting pack by post. Once completed, you can:
- Hand deliver to the City Administration Building by 4.30pm Friday, 17 October; or
- Hand deliver to a polling station on election day Saturday, 18 October:
- City of Karratha Council Chambers: 8am to 6pm
- Dampier Library, 3 High Street, Dampier: 8am to 4pm
- Roebourne Library, 38 Roe Street, Roebourne: 9am to 2pm
- Wickham Library, Carse Street, Wickham: 8am to 4pm
Replacement voting packs
If you’ve moved house within the City of Karratha district since the last election, didn’t receive a Voting Pack or misplaced your Voting Pack you can obtain a replacement.
Replacement voting packs will be available at the City Administration Building until 4.30pm Friday, 17 October and any polling station on election day, Saturday, 18 October. Please remember to bring valid photo ID.
Is voting in a local government election compulsory?
Whilst voting in local government elections isn’t compulsory in WA, your voice matters and every vote has a real impact.
Voting gives you the chance to influence who will represent your community and make decisions that impact your everyday life.
Can I vote in a local election if I am not enrolled to vote in the City of Karratha district?
No, you need to be enrolled in the district to receive a Voting Pack or obtain a replacement Voting Pack.
You can change your address online with a driver’s licence, passport number or other proof of identity documentation on the Australian Electoral Commission website Enrol to Vote, prior to 22 August 2025 to vote in the 2025 Local Election.
What if I’m enrolled to vote in the City of Karratha district but I’ve moved house?
No problem, you can obtain a replacement Voting Pack from the City administration building from mid-September right up until 6pm on election day, Saturday 18 October 2025.
