The Karratha Back Beach Boat Ramp and Jetty Structure is an important asset for both local residents and visitors. To ensure the jetty remains safe and functional, the City of Karratha has carried out extensive maintenance work, including abrasive blasting and protective coatings treatment.
Scope of works
The maintenance focused on the following:
- Abrasive blasting to remove corrosion, deteriorated protective coatings and marine growth.
- Protective coating application to extend the jetty's lifespan and protect it from further wear and tear caused by the harsh coastal environment.
- Jetty structure remediation both on-site and off-site, ensuring repairs are completed effectively and safely.
The City of Karratha thanks the community for its patience during these works.
This maintenance project is part of the City's ongoing commitment to improving local infrastructure and providing safe, accessible recreational spaces for the community.
