The City of Karratha’s annual community survey is now open, and residents are being invited to share their thoughts on local services, facilities and community life and go into the running to win a return trip for two to Broome and other prizes for sharing their thoughts on a range of City matters.
The survey results play a vital role in the City’s understanding of how residents rate the importance and performance of City facilities, services, and liveability factors.
The feedback is used to identify gaps in service delivery, plan for new projects and advocate for the community.
Those who complete the survey will go into a draw to win either return flights from Karratha to Broome for two from Nexus Airlines, a YETI 65L Tundra Hard Cooler or a $100 TryLocal Voucher.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the survey was easy to complete and was an effective tool to inform Council's strategic planning and budgeting processes.
“The results help the City determine priorities for the year ahead, ensuring our services and facilities continue to meet the community's needs,” Cr Scott stated.
“The survey also helps assess lifestyle and liveability factors, including the cost of living, access to healthcare, and the availability of educational opportunities.”
Mayor Scott said while some of these factors were not in the direct control of the City and Council, the data would assist them in advocating on behalf of the local community.
“In 2024, more than 2000 people participated in the survey and we hope to receive even more responses this year.
“The more people who complete the survey, the stronger our voice becomes when advocating to State and Federal governments on behalf of our community. Every response helps us better understand local priorities and push for the support and investment our region deserves.”
“We want to hear from all sections of the community, so encourage your friends and family to take part and share their thoughts.”
