A display that created a truly memorable Christmas experience has been named the overall winner of this year’s Christmas Lights Competition.
The City of Karratha’s annual Christmas Lights Competition, sponsored by Horizon Power, saw residents and businesses across the five towns show their Christmas spirit.
24 Legendre Road, Nickol was named this year’s standout residential winner whose interactive “find the elves” challenge and magical snowfall created an unforgettable festive experience for visitors of all ages.
The highly commended went to 15 Melaleuca View, Wickham, described by the judges as an absolute standout, with a snow machine creating a magical atmosphere.
In the Business Category, Burger Bus was the overall winner for their wonderfully clever and eye-catching display featuring a blow-up Santa sitting proudly in the driver’s seat of the bus.
Meanwhile, Davtech Industries was recognised as highly commended for their display.
The people’s choice prize was taken out by the Kett Family at 93 Mujira Ramble for their colourful and exceptionally well put together.
The display showcased creativity, a neat layout with careful attention to detail, and featured the ever-popular Bluey.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott congratulated all entrants and praised the community’s enthusiasm for the annual event.
“Our community takes enormous pride in celebrating the festive season, and this year’s displays were nothing short of spectacular,” Mayor Scott said.
“From imaginative family homes to creative business entries, the dedication and joy behind each display truly reflects the spirit of the City of Karratha.”
“These displays don’t just light up our streets, they bring people together, create shared experiences and add something special to the holiday period,” he said.
“Congratulations to all our winners and a big thank you to everyone who took part in brightening our community this Christmas.”
