Community invited to join Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Group

The City of Karratha is inviting expressions of interest from community members to join its new Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Group.

Applications open on Monday 2 June with the City seeking up to 10 community members, including people with lived experience of disability, carers and professionals from the disability support service sector.

The group will play an important role in guiding  the City on matters relating to disability, access, inclusion, communication and participation, while supporting the implementation of the City’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2024–2029.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Group would help ensure local voices and lived experiences shape the City’s approach to accessibility.

“Creating an inclusive community where everyone can participate fully is a key priority for the City,” Mayor Scott said.

“This Advisory Group provides an opportunity for community members to share their lived experience, knowledge and professional expertise, and contribute directly to initiatives and projects that improve accessibility, inclusion and participation across our region.

Applications open Monday 2 June and close on Friday 19 June 2026.

Community members can apply via the online Expression of Interest form, via email with an audio or video submission, or by completing a hardcopy form available from City libraries and the City Administration Building. An Easy Read version of the Expression of Interest form will also be available.
