Garden lovers across the City of Karratha are encouraged to put their green spaces in the spotlight, with entries now open for the 2026 Ready Set Grow Competition.
Now in its sixth year, the Ready Set Grow competition celebrates local passion for gardening, with prizes awarded in five exciting categories
This year there is more than $3,000 in prizes up for grabs across the five categories including; Best Edible Garden, Best Business/Not for Profit, Best Residential and the Best Waterwise Garden – sponsored by Water Corporation.
The final category is the Mayor’s Choice Award for the best overall garden that stands out for its impact, creativity, and sustainability.
Adding to this year’s program is renowned landscape architect, environmental educator and host of Gardening Australia, Costa Georgiadis, who will visit the region for a series of special community events.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the competition continued to inspire residents to create greener, more liveable spaces.
“Ready Set Grow is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the creativity, pride and environmental stewardship shown by our community,” Cr Scott said.
“Each year we see incredible gardens and innovative ideas that demonstrate how people are adapting and thriving in the Pilbara environment.
“We’re also excited to welcome Costa Georgiadis to the region as part of this year’s program, bringing his passion for sustainability, education and community connection to Karratha.”
