Nominate your 2026 Community Citizen of the Year

The City of Karratha is calling on residents to nominate outstanding locals for the 2026 Community Citizen of the Year Awards.

These awards shine a spotlight on individuals and groups making a positive difference in the community.

This year, there are four categories: Community Citizen of the Year, Young Community Citizen of the Year, Senior Community Citizen of the Year, and the Active Citizenship Award.

Nominations can be made for contributions across a wide range of areas, including education, health, volunteering, business, sport, arts, culture, the environment, and social inclusion.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the awards were an important opportunity to recognise the incredible people who contribute to the region’s vibrant and connected community.

“Every year, we are inspired by the stories of local heroes who go above and beyond for our community,” Mayor Scott said.

“Past recipients have included dedicated volunteers, youth leaders, and community groups whose efforts make the City of Karratha a better place to live, work, and play.

“These awards are about celebrating their passion and commitment, and I encourage everyone to think about the individuals and groups who inspire them and submit a nomination.”
