Place planning workshops open for registration

The City is inviting residents to participate in upcoming place planning engagement sessions to shape the future of their community.

As a key action of the new Council Plan 2025 - 2035, the City is creating Place Plans for Point Samson, Wickham and Ieramugadu (Roebourne).

Each Place Plan will outline the community’s vision for their town and set clear actions, timeframes, and responsibilities to bring it to life.

They will focus on aligning and delivering infrastructure initiatives (the ‘hardware’), while still considering the vital role of events, businesses and culture (the 'software').

To create these Place Plans, a series of engagement activities will be held in each town during August.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said these activities would give locals the opportunity to directly shape the development of their community.

“Place planning is about working together to create towns we’re proud of,” Cr Scott said.

“We know we have passionate locals and we are excited to hold these sessions and work collaboratively to create a shared plan for the future of our towns.

“We’ll be kicking off community sessions in mid-August, and we want to hear from you.”
