Works on the new accessible amenity at Saylor Park in Wickham have been completed with the facility now open to the public.
The new facility includes a universal accessible toilet, a baby changing station, and other essential features, all designed to meet the highest standards of accessibility and safety.
The structure features a range of modern design elements, such as an insulated roof, weatherboard exterior, and a functional, easy-to-maintain interior.
It comes after a feasibility study assessing improvements for the Wickham Recreation Precinct, with the community highlighting the need for a new public unisex accessible amenity.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the upgrade contributes to the ongoing improvement of the Wickham Recreation Precinct.
“Our community identified the need for an accessible amenity at Saylor Park,” Cr Scott said.
“This will also provide residents with access to a baby changing station, and other essential features meeting our community’s needs.”
This project was made possible through the support of our funding partner, Rio Tinto.
