Notice is hereby given that at the Ordinary Council Meeting held 28 April 2025, Council initiated the above-mentioned scheme amendment to the City of Karratha Local Planning Scheme No. 8.
The purpose of this amendment is to ensure the City of Karratha Local Planning Scheme remains current with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 and to implement recommendations of the City’s Local Planning Strategy 2021. Key changes include:
Updates to land use definitions, zoning maps and text provisions;
Introduction of new land use classes (e.g., Renewable Energy Facility);
Rezoning of specific land for conservation, residential, and mixed-use purposes;
Corrections to minor mapping anomalies.
